5.2.3. Regional and sectoral economy

Program Overview:

Training of highly qualified research and teaching staff capable of solving:

- conceptual (fundamental) problems of regional and sectoral economies using modern methods of economic analysis;

- applied problems of functioning of various economic agents, regional and sectoral markets, economic and social systems, and their effective management.

The postgraduate educational program determines the planned results of its development; the results of scientific (research) activities, the results of mastering disciplines (modules), the results of practical training. As a result of mastering the program in the scientific specialty 5.2.3. Regional and sectoral economy (regional economics, industrial economics, population economics and labor economics), the graduate must have the following competencies:

  • The ability to critically analyze and evaluate modern scientific achievements, generate new ideas in solving research and practical problems, including in interdisciplinary fields.
  • The ability to design and carry out comprehensive research, including interdisciplinary, based on a holistic systematic scientific worldview using knowledge in the field of history and philosophy of science.
  • Willingness to participate in the work of Russian and international research teams in solving scientific and scientific-educational tasks.
  • Willingness to use modern methods and technologies of scientific communication in the state and foreign languages.
  • Willingness to teach in the main educational programs of higher education.
  • The ability to conduct applied economic research in the field of regional and sectoral economics based on fundamental methods of economic analysis.
  • The ability to carry out fundamental and applied research in industry and regional markets (including labor markets); to develop strategies for the behavior of economic agents in these markets.
  • The ability to develop options for management decisions and justify their choice based on criteria of socio-economic efficiency.
