2.6.6. Nanotechnology and nanomaterials

Abstract of the educational program for the training of scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in Postgraduate studies of the scientific specialty

2.6.6. Nanotechnology and nanomaterials

1. Languages of education: Russian, English (optional)

2. Campus: Taganrog, International Research Institute of Intelligent Materials

Program Overview:

Creating conditions for postgraduate students to acquire the level of knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for carrying out scientific and scientific-pedagogical activities and preparing and defending a dissertation for the degree of Candidate of technical Sciences; building a system of support measures for young researchers, motivating them to consolidate in a professional educational environment and effective scientific activities; preparing a reserve for scientific- the teaching staff of the university departments.

The program is aimed at training highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel capable of independently solving research tasks within the framework of a scientific (research, innovative) project in the field of nanotechnology and nanomaterials, presenting scientific (scientific and technical) results to the professional community and determining ways of practical use; having competitive advantages in a dynamically changing professional environment; those who know the methods of organizing fundamental, exploratory and (or) applied research and (or) developments within the framework of the implementation of a scientific (innovative research) project in the field of nanotechnology and nanomaterials.

As a result of mastering the postgraduate program, the student should have formed competencies and prepared a dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences.

The main educational program provides for the pedagogical practice of students. Practice strengthens the knowledge and skills acquired by graduate students because of mastering theoretical courses and special disciplines, develops practical skills and contributes to the comprehensive formation of students' competencies.

As a result of mastering the program, the graduate must have the following competencies:

  • The ability to critically analyze and evaluate modern scientific achievements, generate new ideas in solving research and practical problems, including in interdisciplinary fields.
  • The ability to design and carry out comprehensive research, including interdisciplinary, based on a holistic systematic scientific worldview using knowledge in the field of history and philosophy of science.
  • Willingness to participate in the work of Russian and international research teams in solving scientific and scientific-educational tasks.
  • Willingness to use modern methods and technologies of scientific communication in the state and foreign languages.
  • Willingness to teach in the main educational programs of higher education.
  • Development of scientific research: technological and experimental studies of the processes of obtaining nanomaterials and their processing, including through the formation of nanostructures on substrates, volumetric modification of melts, plastic deformation, consolidation of nanopowders, modification of the surface of materials, irradiation with accelerated particles, thermal and thermomechanical processing; development of technologies and equipment.
