Purpose of this educational program
The main purpose of the program is to train professional graphic artists who can create works of art with high creative potential as well as to preserve and develop national art.
The Department of Theory and Practice of Fine Arts has all the necessary equipment for easel graphics and a rich methodological fund accumulated over many years. Graphic artists, teaching at the department, possess extensive experience in creative and pedagogical work.
Students will learn how to work in various graphic techniques, copy the works of masters and create original graphic sheets. Among the disciplines studied at the program are computer graphics and the basics of graphic design.
The leading teachers of the department develop creative potential of the programs students and cultivate professionalism and a sense of responsibility to modern artistic culture in young artists.

- The program has been created and coordinated in order to study national and world art, to master the possibilities and techniques of graphic activities, to achieve the highest results in creativity, to familiarize students with the latest research in the field of artistic activity, to independently explore new opportunities for creative and professional artistic work.
- Students can participate in various research activities at Southern Federal Universitys Academy of Architecture and Arts, scientific and practical conferences, exhibitions of various levels, successfully participate in large exhibition projects, conduct numerous master classes at the Museum of Fine Arts; at the annual Festivals of Science and Art of Southern Federal University students gain experience in working with students of the childrens art school.
- Plein-air trainings are held in the graphic workshop of the Department of Theory and Practice of Fine Arts (Academy of Architecture and Arts, Southern Federal University), outdoor trainings take place in the most picturesque and iconic places of Russia (in the Rostov region, in the cities of the Golden Ring of Russia), as well as in the art houses Chelyuskinskiy and Goryachy Klyuch.
- Students of the specialty “Graphics" have copying trainings in the Rostov Regional Museum of Fine Arts (Rostov-on-Don) and in the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow). Work placement internships are held in museums and publishing houses.
- The programs partner companies are Russian Artists Association, Union of Russian Teachers-Artists, Creative Union of Russian Artists.
Prospects. Career & Employment
Graduates of the program can work in their own creative workshops, in printing industry, in the field of digital fine arts, graphic technologies, they can as well teach fine arts, for which they pass a block of disciplines corresponding to these qualifications.
Graduates can also conduct research in various fields of graphic activity.
