Program Overview

The program is aimed at training specialists in the field of international relations for national and regional needs. The program provides a good base in the field of international relations, after studying graduates can work in industries connected with foreign relations or there is a need for intercultural communication skills. Graduates are in demand in diplomatic and foreign economic structures, as well as in non-governmental organizations whose activities are related to Russia's foreign policy interests.

Education: the opportunity to study at a partner university during a semester under the student mobility program; visits of professors from foreign universities to read disciplines modules. For example, in 2022-2023, Alexander Zhivotic, a professor at the University of Belgrade (Serbia), a specialist in the history of Yugoslavia and international political relations of Serbia, gave lectures as a visiting professor. Participation in the UN Model (Rostov-on-Don, Moscow, Stavropol, Volgograd and other Russian cities), in the Gorchakov Foundation competition, in Summer and Winter Schools on topical issues of international relations becomes a bright event for any student of the program. There is an opportunity to participate in the organization of events and business games. In previous years, students have organized such events as:  2023 ; the SCO model, etc.

In addition to learning the main foreign language (English), students study a second foreign language of their choice: French, Spanish, German, Chinese, or Japanese.

Science: participation in conferences of the student Science Week and the annual All-Russian scientific and practical conference of students and young scientists "World Politics in the mirror of Internet and media communications" with subsequent publication of conference materials. 1st year students already have publications and can boast of first places at student conferences.

Leisure: student scientific clubs (Diplomatic Club, Debate Club, British club, German club, French club, Balkan club, Intercultural Communication Club, etc.), creative groups and self-made (theater, dance, vocal, KVN, etc.).

International Relations Specialists use their understanding of political science, global issues, and international relations to analyze international politics and relationsю They are responsible for advising businesses or governments on foreign affairs and relations. An International Relations Specialist typically works for governments, non-profit organizations, multinational corporations, and international bodies like the United Nations.
