Guantanamo University is one of the largest universities in the region (Guantanamo Province), among the top best universities in the country. The university offers various fields of study, and among the key lines of cooperation with SFedU are foreign languages, tourism and social sciences and humanities.

In addition to Master's degree courses: specialized courses related to the Spanish language and intercultural communication, Ekaterina Asadchikh's internship program includes cultural awareness events at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Guantanamo University.

Russians language classes with Cuban students, the undergraduate is attached to the Department of the Russian Language of the University of Economics. The groups include not only students who take part in the SFedU project “Internship in Russia - a step to success” (they will go to Russian universities in 2024), but also those who would like to study Russian language and culture as their future profession.

Ekaterina shared her positive impressions of meeting students and teachers of the university, and also spoke about the warm welcome and greeting of Osiris Oranda Kreach, Rector of Guantanamo University. In addition, she was introduced to the socio-cultural projects "Con Mochila al hombro" and "Lectoesperanza", which are implemented by Guantanamo University.

As part of the implementation of the cultural and educational part of the stay program, Ekaterina took part in the celebration of the 79th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people over fascism, which took place on May 9. Among the invited were not only students and teachers of the Russian language, but also the border military of the Guantanamo province.

According to the undergraduate, an internship at a Cuban university is an invaluable experience that not only opens up opportunities for personal and academic growth, immersion in culture, but also in the long term contributes to obtaining in-demand skills and new career opportunities both in Russia and Cuba.
