The comprehensive program "Internships in Russia — a step towards success!" is implemented on the state assignment of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and focuses on strengthening partnership between educational organizations of Russia and the Republic of Cuba. Southern Federal University acts as the main university coordinator of the program.
In 2024, 50 students arrived in Russia for internships, who were assigned to leading domestic universities, including the Southern Federal University. The Institute of Computer Technology and Information Security, as a division of SFedU, accepted four students for individual master's and postgraduate study programs. The new students were representatives of the University of Computer Science Denis Sixto Francia Carell, Roberto Antonio Infante, Andi Suarez Onya and a student of the Havana University of Technology named after Jose Antonio Echeverria Ariel Baloira Perez.
Within five weeks, Cuban interns will have to complete research projects and submit them for defense. Project management is carried out by employees of the SFedU Institute of Computer Technology and Information Security:

So, at the Institute of Computer Technology and Information Security, translation support is provided by Associate Professor Sabina Kerimova.
Russian Language and Culture intensive course, developed by the Department of Russian Language and General Education Disciplines will also be held by foreign students during the internship program. Russian classes will be taught by Ekaterina Pomigueva, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and methods of teaching it. This course will help to create a better contact between the two countries, which in the future will become the basis for the creation of research and educational collaborations.
