Within the framework of the International Summer School, students from India became participants in educational programs, excursions and sports events.
This significant event in the field of international cooperation is held with the aim of internationalizing the content of education and effectively organizing educational and research activities to achieve the results of the Development Program of the Southern Federal University.
"SFedU cooperates with Indian universities, participating in joint scientific events for many years. The agreement on holding an International Summer School was reached several years ago, and for the first time we tested such a format of interaction with our Indian partners in 2019. Then a group of 7 students visited the Taganrog campus of the Southern Federal University. Last summer, Gennady Veselov, Director of the Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security, and I visited India, where we signed an agreement with Manipal University Jaipur to open an Indian-Russian Center of SFedU at this university," said Anton Plenkin, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security, Authorized representative of the Rector for Cooperation with partners in the Republic of India.
Three students and a professor from Manipal University became participants of the International Summer School. The educational program of the International Summer School includes seven tracks related to IT. For 10 days, a schedule of classes is provided for students, including lectures, workshops and master classes in English, as well as a rich cultural and sports program.
One of the first events was an introductory lecture conducted by Anna Opryshko, Associate Professor of the Institute of Computer Technologies and Information Security, at the Indian-Russian Center of the Southern Federal University. She told the guests from India about Russian culture and traditions, about the main activities of the SFedU.
"I have already had the opportunity to talk to our guests. I liked these guys: intelligent, well-mannered, smart. I am sure that it will be interesting for them to get acquainted with the traditions and culture of our country," Anna Opryshko shared her impressions of the conversation.
During the event, a lively dialogue took place, in which Indian students told that they had watched a lot of introductory videos about Russia before traveling to our country, and now they want to see everything with their own eyes.
Sopnendu Sakar has been studying cloud technologies at Manipal University for 3 years. A student from the city of Jaipur spoke about his expectations from a visit to Russia:
"I want to find out how SFedU works with IT technologies, compare studies at Southern Federal and Manipal Universities. I am also interested in getting to know the cultural peculiarities of the country."
Upon completion of the educational course, students of the International Summer School will receive certificates and memorable gifts. In the future, students from SFedU will visit Manipal University in Jaipur as part of a similar program.
