03.06.2024

In the last week of spring, Dagestan State Technical University and Dagestan State University of National Economy held entrepreneurial competence trainings organized by experts from the Southern Federal University with the support of the University Technological Entrepreneurship Platform.

The training was devoted to the basics of technological entrepreneurship and bringing an idea to a packaged startup project. The guys went from generating an idea and forming a team around it to defending their innovative projects at a pitch session.

The participants got acquainted with the practical tools and technologies used to create a technology startup, and also conducted a diagnosis of their own potential as an entrepreneur.

The trainers were Roman Volodin, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Theory and Technology in Management at the Faculty of Management of the Southern Federal University, Natalia Bogush, lecturer at the Faculty of Business "Captains" of the Southern Federal University, specialist of the project Office for the Development of innovative and entrepreneurial competencies of the Central Research Institute of the Southern Federal University, as well as Nikita Burmistrov, lecturer at the Faculty of Business "Captains" of the Southern Federal University and lecturer at the Department of Management Technology in Industry tourism of the Southern Federal University Ekaterina Velichko.

"The training is aimed at developing students' skills in technological entrepreneurship. In six hours, the guys go through several stages. It all starts with the formation of a team around the NTI market they are interested in, then work is underway on generating an innovative idea, the target audience is being worked out, a value proposition is being formed, finances are calculated. Then comes the training of the pitch project skill, when students must present the product concisely and interestingly in two minutes in order to attract an investor. The training is useful because in a fairly short period of time, participants get the basics of the product approach, and this is a great groundwork in order to interest themselves and further use the infrastructure opportunities for the development of startups — accelerators, startup studios, hackathons," Ekaterina Velichko noted.

The training participants received the most up-to-date knowledge about technological entrepreneurship, and also underwent diagnostics of their own competencies from the experts of the SFedU. During the final presentations, student teams who came with their business ideas were told how their project could be modified to become a profitable startup, recommended to undergo revision in the accelerator or recommended to participate in demo days with the participation of real investors.

"The trainings gave me the opportunity to improve my skills and gain new knowledge. In my opinion, such events will be useful to all students, in particular, all the knowledge that participants receive during the trainings will help everyone to create and develop their own business and other projects in the future," Anastasia Kostikova, a 3rd—year student of Dagestan State University of National Economy, shared.

During the year, SFedU experts will conduct trainings on entrepreneurial competencies for students of Dagestan State University.
