The Southern Federal University hosted the first graduation of the Advanced Engineering School of the Southern Federal University

The first graduation of the Advanced Engineering School "Cyberplatform Engineering" of the Southern Federal University took place at the SFedU Student Club in Taganrog. On this day, the long-awaited diplomas were awarded to graduates of the Master's degree program at the Southern Federal University, who studied in 9 areas of training in accordance with the subject and the order of the School's key industrial partners.

"Master's Day is of particular importance for the Southern Federal University as a research university, because people who accurately understand the request for their conscious competence come to the master's program. You entered the master's program in 2022, when the value of an engineer, always understandable to the state, began to be of decisive importance. In this hall there are not only graduates of those programs that are being implemented at the Southern Federal University, but also the first graduates of the Advanced Engineering School of the Southern Federal University in Taganrog. I am sure that over the years of study you have seen how our Engineering and Technology Academy is being transformed, how the level of tasks set and solved is changing, the level of the system of knowledge and technologies that you are mastering and can already use throughout your professional life. Our common future depends on what kind of engineers as professionals and citizens of Russia will be in our country. We are ready to provide support and support to all our graduates throughout your career path. We will be proud of your every success, and we will support you in case of mistakes or failures. And we will always remember that on this stage in the engineering capital of Southern Russia, diplomas with honors are awarded to those who could and who did a little more than prescribed by the educational program, to those who can dream, have ambitions and strength to move forward. Congratulations! I wish you good luck and success!" – Rector of SFedU Inna Shevchenko greeted the graduates.

"The AES project was launched in SFedU two years ago. The tasks were ambitious – to transform the university's engineering education into a world-class advanced school for the training of designers, technologists and programmers capable of solving major industry tasks in the field of RTK and basic technologies. Even with a large intellectual base and a well-developed logistical infrastructure, we understood that the path ahead was not easy and long. Today, releasing the first specialists, it is safe to say that the results were not long in coming.

Six months after the implementation of the project, 45 engineers of Rostec Group enterprises underwent advanced training at the SFedU Research Institute. A number of students of the School at the very first extracurricular practices in partner companies proved themselves positively and received an invitation for employment. Now we can safely declare the unique educational approaches at SFedU, successfully implemented grant programs to support students and young professionals," added Alexander Fedotov, director of the Advanced Engineering School.

As the graduates note, the SFedU project is a completely new look at the training of engineering personnel. Here, in modern educational spaces, a more concentrated amount of knowledge is given, and most importantly, through practice, a real understanding of the areas of application of the acquired skills appears. Therefore, we explain the increased interest of applicants and students in the project: launched in 2022, the SFedU AES entered the TOP 6 of Russia and is already one of the largest Advanced engineering schools in the country, with more than 650 students.

"The choice of the SFedU faculty was due to several reasons: the teaching staff perfectly conveys the necessary material to students, and the direction of "Electric Power and electrical Engineering" is currently promising and in demand in the labor market.

The direction was chosen by me to increase my competence and deepen my knowledge in the field of electric power and electrical engineering. Considering that I am interested in programming microprocessors and microcontrollers, I am developing a control and data collection system for complex technical objects at KTV Filter LLC," said Alexey Yakovlev, a graduate of the Cyberphysical Platforms division.

Another feature of the Advanced Engineering School is its own educational standards. This is an effective mechanism for creating the most flexible educational programs available to the University within the framework of existing federal legislation and local regulatory framework. In the spring, the partner company can formulate a request, and in September a relevant answer will appear in the educational program. The creation of design standards for educational programs is a rare phenomenon, but not unique, but the introduction of variable modules of disciplines implementing variable professional competencies, which were recommended and validated by partner enterprises, was included in the list of unique best practices of Advanced Engineering schools.
