Teaching:

  • Modern English Word Theory
    This course is to extend the students' comprehension of the English text as a specific communicative form, promote their mastering of the norms of Modern Literary English and skill to effectively influence the listener/reader and interact, which is all aimed at molding a successful communicative personality able to productively communicate in any professional and socially important situation
  • Stylistics of the Modern English Language
    The course permits to disclose not just the immediate links between the language and the social medium, but also to reveal the inner systemic distribution of language means, to find the specificity of their stylistic implementation. The course is also aimed at the development of the skills of the stylistic analysis of the texts belonging to various functional styles.
  • Bilingual Communication in the Modern World
    The course is designed for post-graduate students of philology. It permits to have general systemic conceptualization of the comparatively new branch of linguistics named biliguology linked with general linguistics, social linguistics, psychological linguistics, ethnic linguistics, pragmatic linguistics, theory of text, theory of language contacts, etc.
  • Topical problems of English lexicology & lexicography (in English)
    The discipline is taught at the master's degree level and aimed at further improvement of the philological knowledge, skills and abilities acquired at the bachelor's degree university level, providing opportunities to carry out research, analytical, professional activities with a view to integrate in the global networks, exchange knowledge and technologies in philology and linguistics; improve professional foreign-language competence in the students' teacher education; shape their ability to apply the knowledge of the up-to-date problems of science and education in the solution of their job tasks; develop their personal qualities, as well as shape their general and professional competence
  • Text linguistics and the basis of discourse analysis (in English)
    The discipline is taught at the master's degree level and aimed at further improvement of the philological knowledge, skills and abilities acquired at the bachelor's degree university level, providing opportunities to carry out research, analytical, professional activities with a view to integrate in the global networks, exchange knowledge and technologies in philology and linguistics; improve professional foreign-language competence in the students' teacher education; shape their ability to apply the knowledge of the up-to-date problems of science and education in the solution of their job tasks; develop their personal qualities, as well as shape their general and professional competence
