On September 18, 2024, a webinar was held, which was attended by representatives of companies and leading universities in Taiwan, Russia, Hong Kong, China, South Africa, and Israel.
This webinar was organized by the Trans-European Trade Center, the main purpose of which is to facilitate the exchange of experience and ideas, study best practices for contacts with corporations and companies from near and far abroad.
Southern Federal University (SFedU), as one of the largest universities in Russia, was represented by: Head of the Department of Soil Science and Land Resources Assessment - Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor. Tatyana Minkina, and Ekaterina Kravchenko, PhD, Head of the Scientific Laboratory of Applied Bio- and Algotechnologies.
Tatyana Mikhailovna made a report on the topic: New methods and technologies for the control and restoration of technogenically disturbed soils adjacent to industrial enterprises. The results of the work supported by grants from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Agreement No. 075-15-2023-587 and No. 075-15-2022-1122 were highlighted.

Ekaterina Alexandrovna - spoke on the topic: The use of blast furnace and steel slags, their processing and application as potential carbon sinks during carbonation.
- Processing of steel slags into non-structural concretes sequestering CO2 during carbonation - the potential of waste to capture greenhouse gases.
- The potential of blast furnace slag as an alternative to Portland cement is a practical case in Hong Kong for the construction of artificial islands.
The results of research carried out with the support of the Strategic Academic Leadership Program of the Southern Federal University (Priority 2030) are demonstrated."

Representatives of large technology companies showed great interest and discussed the possibility of applying the developments and recommendations presented in the reports of scientists of the Southern Federal University. The webinar was attended by such large companies as:
