SFedU employees took part in a major international conference on digital journalism

From April 3 to 4, Yekaterinburg hosted the III International Scientific and Practical Conference "Digital Journalism: technologies, meanings and features of creative activity", organized by the Department of Journalism Faculty of the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin.

The forum was attended by representatives of the Southern Federal University.

Margarita Ereshchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian for Foreign Students, Head of the Educational Center of Slavic Philology and Culture of the Southern Federal University, made a presentation on the topic: "The simulation function of influence in digital media: generation technologies, transformation of meanings, strategies of dialogue." Her presentation took place within the framework of Laboratory 6 "Current practices of media and social media discourse" and aroused great interest among the participants who worked in a hybrid format.

Anna Dmitrova, Director of the SFedU Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication, participated in the plenary sessions and key round tables of the conference, where issues of media education, legal regulation of modern media and intergenerational communications were discussed.

The central event for the SFedU participants was a solemn meeting dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the UrFU Faculty of Journalism, which took place on April 3 at the Palace of Culture of the Railway Workers.

The Director of the SFedU Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication presented the official address on behalf of the Rector of the Southern Federal University Inna Shevchenko to the director of the Department "Faculty of Journalism" Alexei Fayustov.

The congratulatory message noted the long-term partnership between SFedU and UrFU, the high level of scientific research in the field of digital journalism and media communications, and the contribution of the Ural School of journalism to the development of domestic media.

Participation in the conference made it possible to strengthen academic and scientific ties between the two leading Russian universities, exchange current practices in the use of artificial intelligence in media, modern approaches in media education and methods of discourse analysis.

Colleagues from Ural Federal University expressed their sincere gratitude to the Rector of the Southern Federal University I. K. Shevchenko and the staff of the Southern Federal University for their kind words and constant attention to the development of interuniversity cooperation.
