For foreigners studying Russian, there is a special version of Total Dictation — the TruD test. It is created based on the author's text and includes two parts: nine test tasks and a small dictation. This international event is a way to test your strength in an unusual format and learn new things about Russian culture and history, which has been taking place since 2016.

The TruD test was held on April 9 simultaneously with the main Total Dictation. It was possible to take part in it both offline (at sites in your city) and online. In Rostov-on-Don, the dictation was written on closed sites of the city partner of the MICE CLUSTER GORIZONT project in the Horizon CINEMA&EMOTION Cinema.

Foreign citizens from 20 countries took part in the dictation: Syria, Iraq, Colombia, Armenia, Ecuador, Zambia, Lebanon, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Yemen, Vietnam, Iran, Afghanistan, Congo, Zimbabwe, Algeria, Peru, Guinea, Chad, China.
