Education:
Roman Igorevich Sukhov graduated from Rostov State University (Geological and Geographical Faculty) in 1998. He got specialization "Tourism and Excursion Business" with qualification Geographer. Teacher on the specialty "Geography".
From 1998 to 2001 R.I. Sukhov studied at the postgraduate school of Rostov State University, majoring in "Economic, Social and Political Geography".
Since 2002 he has been the Candidate of Geographical Sciences (thesis "Features of Development and Current State of Tourism in Rostov Region").
Brief biography.
R.I. Sukhov was born on June 9th, 1976 in Rostov-on-Don. He studied at school N 86 in the geography class at the Geological and Geographical Faculty of Rostov State University. He took an active part in students’ research life. Studying in the 3rd year he started working in a travel agency.
To improve his professional skills Roman Igorevich annually visited inspections of hotels of the most important international tourist destinations in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, Greece, Turkey, India, Switzerland, Russia, Austria, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Egypt, Belgium, and the Netherlands organized by tour operators.
Since 1999 R.I. Sukhov worked as a teacher, then as a senior lecturer and associate professor at the Department of Tourism. Under the guidance of Professor G.P. Dolzhenko he took part in the recruitment and training of the first students’ group in Russia studying the experimental specialty "Tourism".
Roman Igorevich was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor in the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Industry in 2010.
Other hobbies: Russian literature and poetry (A. Chekhov, L. Tolstoy, M. Tsvetaeva, I. Severyanin); painting and sculpture (Renoir, Vrubel, El Greco, Toulouse-Lautrec, Rodin, Goya); symphonic and opera music (Tchaikovsky, Verdi, Scriabin, Rachmaninoff, Grieg); skiing, trekking.
