Management of innovation processes in the region within a single information space; E-government; information technology management of large corporations and clusters; models and information technology project management in the economic and social spheres; investment management.
Research projects:
He supervises the scientific Association of students of the Department "Applied Informatics in Economics", the annual "Week of Science", the organization and conduct of student round tables on the theme "Actual problems of introduction of modern information and communication technologies in economic activities of economic entities" ("Information economy"); carried out the organization and conducting of the student scientific section "the Use of economic-mathematical models and informational technologies in economy" at the annual scientific session of faculty of Economics, carried out the planning of the educational and scientific activities of the Department, coordination of research activities of students, cooperated in the scientific and international development units with the Department and the relevant units of the University.
Since 2007, Matveeva L. G. is a member of the organizing Committee of the annual international scientific-practical conference "Modern information technologies in economic activities" carried out on the basis of economic faculty of southern Federal University.
In 2010 he became Director of the Scientific-educational center "Modelling of innovative development of socio-economic systems" economic faculty of southern Federal University, focused on development, adaptation and application of tools supporting the adoption of innovative solutions in socio-economic systems using mathematical tools and modern information technologies.
Head of research area (the research school): "Sustainable innovative development of Russian regions in the framework of the non-commodity model".

Under the leadership Matveeva L. G. successfully defended 10 doctoral and 44 PhD theses.
Published 270 works of authorship, including 230 40 scientific and educational methodological.
