The main scientific lines of researches:
The problems of pre-trial procedure in criminal process in Russian Federation; using of special knowledge in criminal justice process.
The main research works: “The problems of the introductory investigation’s quality”. Author's abstract (Krasnodar, 2004);
Guidance manual “The special aspects of the criminal investigations into the minors in criminal process” (Rostov, 2008),
“Petitions and complaints” in the textbook “The criminal process. General part” (Rostov, 2008).
Co-author of the study guide “Criminalistics” (Moscow, 2012).
He successfully combines both scientific and teaching activities with law practice. Mr. Stepanov is the Head of Rostov Region Bar Association “Sovetnik”.
