Research interests:
Main areas of research - the environment, nature conservation, soil science, anthropogenic impact, soil biology, the ecological functions of soil, ecosystem sustainability, biodiagnostics and bioindication
Member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry and the International Society of Soil Science.
Publications - more than 1100, including more than 68 books, among which the most important monograph "Biogeography and biodiagnostics soil", "Biology of Southern Russia Soil ", "The biological diagnosis and soil indicator", "Soil Assessment Guide", "The soils of the south of Russia", "Atlas of soils of southern Russia," textbook "Soil science" (6 editions), articles in journals: "Geoderma", "Plants", "Forests", "Russian Journal of Ecology", "Radiation biology.
