Education

In 1994 Dr. Irina Lysak finished with distinction her studies at Taganrog State Pedagogical Institute under the “Tutor, Methodologist, Teacher of History” specialty. She successfully completed her postgraduate studies under the “Social Philosophy” specialty and doctorate studies under the “Theory and History of Culture” specialty.

In 1999 at Rostov State University she presented her Ph.D. theses under the “Destructive Activity of a Person as a Socio-Cultural Phenomenon” subject-matter.

In 2007 at the Southern Federal University she presented her theses for the scientific degree of a Doctor of Philosophy under the “Philosophic and Anthropological Analysis of a Modern Person’s Destructive Activity” subject-matter.

She passed training at the Institute of Social and Liberal Arts of the National University in Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) under the “Modern Technologies of Teaching Social and Humanitarian Subjects” program (2008) and training at the Political Education Center at Baden-Württemberg Land (Germany) under the “Education and European Integration” program (2010).

Experience

Dr. Irina Lysak worked as a teacher of history in high school; as assistant of a Chair of History of Society at Taganrog State Pedagogical Institute; as an assistant and from 2000 as a senior lecturer of a Chair of History and Philosophy at Taganrog State Radio-Engineering University (in 2006 it was renamed to the Institute of Technology of the Southern Federal University). From 2008 till present time she has been a Professor of a Chair of Philosophy at the Southern Federal University.

Summary of scientific activities

Dr. Irina Lysak is an expert in the field of Social Philosophy, Philosophical Anthropology and Cultural Philosophy. The basic sphere of her scientific interests lies in a destructive activity of a person, cultural globalization issues. She is a member of the Russian Philosophic Society.

She published more than 80 scientific and guidance works including 5 monographs and 6 manuals for students of higher educational institutions. From 1997 she has taken part in the work of more than 30 All-Russia and international scientific conferences which took place both in the Russian Federation and in the countries of near and far abroad.

She has been awarded diplomas of the winner of competitions for the best scientific book of 2004 and 2008 among teachers of higher educational institutions held by the Fund for the Domestic Education Development (for “Philosophic and Anthropological Analysis of a Modern Person’s Destructive Activity” and “Society as a Self-Developing System” books). She is the winner of the grant competition of 2010 for advanced vocational training and conducting scientific work in Germany which was held by the Center for German and European Studies (Bielefeld, Germany – St.-Petersburg, Russia) together with the German Service for Academic Exchange (DAAD).
