Alexey Sergeevich Mikheykin
Research interests:
My research carrier is devoted to experimental (x-ray diffraction and vibrational spectroscopy) study of phase transitions in condense matter. I studied structural aspects of phase transitions in minerals, hydrogen-bonded crystals, oxides, metals and alloys. In collaboration with scientists from Institute of Crystallography (Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia) the research mechanisms of fast protonic transport (superprotonic conductivity) and structure of protonic crystals was carried out. High-pressure and low-temperature studies of minerals and inorganic compounds is performed in collaboration with scientists from the General Physics Institute (Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia), the Swiss-Norwegian beam lines at European Synchrotron Radiation Centre (Grenoble, France), and Moscow State Institute of Radio Engineering, Electronics and Automation (Moscow, Russia). The research in phase stability, size effect and catalytic properties of Pt, Pt-Co, Pt-Ni nanocrystals on carbon black support is carried out in collaboration with scientists from South Russian State Technical University (Novocherkassk, Russia).
Research projects:
My current research project is "Impact of strain and chemical pressure on inversion symmetry in quantum paraelectrics", which were supported by Russian Foundation for Basic Research (#17-02-01247, 2017-2019)
