Biochemistry
The academic discipline "Biochemistry" refers to Block 1 of the Basic part of the working curriculum of the bachelor's degree direction 06.03.01; Biology. Objectives of mastering the discipline: to form fundamental knowledge about the structure and properties of macromolecules that make up living organisms, their chemical transformations and the significance of these transformations for understanding the physicochemical foundations of life, molecular mechanisms of heredity and adaptation of biochemical processes in organisms to changing environmental conditions; to form an understanding of the unity of metabolic processes in the body and their regulation at the molecular, cellular and organismal levels.

Molecular biology
The discipline "Molecular biology" belongs to Block 1 of the Basic part of the working curriculum of the bachelor's degree direction 06.03.01; Biology. Objectives of mastering the discipline: To form fundamental knowledge about the structure and properties of biopolymers that make up living organisms, the functioning and methods of bioengineering of nucleic acids of viruses, phages, as well as pro- and eukaryotic systems for understanding the physicochemical foundations of life, molecular mechanisms of heredity; to form an understanding of the unity of metabolic processes in the body and their regulation at the molecular, cellular and organismal levels.

Biotechnology and genetic engineering
The discipline "Biotechnology" is taught in the framework of the educational program of higher education "Biology" in the direction of preparation 06.03.01 "Biology", bachelor's level, belongs to Block 1 of the Variable part of the working curriculum. The goal of mastering the discipline is to acquaint biology students with the main achievements of biotechnology, the prospects for its development, the use of biological principles of functioning of macromolecules, genes, cells, organs and organisms in the production of drugs, food products, renewable energy sources, environmental protection, in selection and in regenerative medicine.
