On April 26, a large-scale athletics race was held, bringing together running enthusiasts, including students and staff of the Southern Federal University.
The participants covered the route from the main building of the SFedU in Rostov-on-Don to the building "G" of the Engineering and Technology Academy in Taganrog - a total of 81 kilometers. The athletes ran a choice of distances of 8, 10 and 25 kilometers — the bravest ran all 81.
The race was held in good spring weather, which allowed the participants to fully enjoy the distance, support each other and the atmosphere of a real sports festival. Several dozen people attended the launch, including representatives of the University's vice—rector's office, Yakov Aslanov, Vice-rector for Educational Work and Youth Programs at SFedU, and Maxim Bondarev, Vice-rector for Projects and International Affairs at SFedU.
The initiative has become not only a test of physical endurance, but also a symbol of the unity of the university community, united by a common history and values.

Yakov Andreevich emphasized the importance of the race as a reflection of the uniqueness of the university and its inter-city structure.
"In 2006, our university was one of the first federal universities to unite four higher education institutions. We have maintained this status for almost 20 years and remain the only university in the country located in two cities at once. Today's race is not just a sporting event, but a symbol of this unity. We have shown that 81 kilometers is just a figure," said Yakov Aslanov, SFedU Vice Rector for Educational Work and Youth Programs.

According to the participants, the race became a bright and inspiring event filled with energy and support. shared his impressions:
"We really put a lot of effort into this race, but it's worth it. Running is an incredible feeling, you can feel the energy coming from inside. Everything was very bright, fun and really athletic. There were a lot of people, strong support, and I just wanted to keep running. Thanks to everyone who organized it — it turned out to be very charged," said Kirill Nigmatullov, a student at the SFedU Advanced Engineering School.

The race was another confirmation that SFedU is not only an educational space, but also an active community that unites people around sports, ideas and aspirations for new achievements.
