In Rostov-on-Don, the results of the regional stage of the IX Rostelecom competition for journalists "Together in the Digital Future" were summed up, the winner of which was Sofia Kupchenko, a 3rd-year journalism student at the Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication of the Southern Federal University.

"The competition is a good opportunity for journalists writing about information technology to present their work to the public. I am particularly impressed that companies such as Rostelecom value such specialists as journalists, which helps the development of digital journalism," commented the winner of the competition.

Sofia submitted the work "Strategy of the South: how business and government are building a new IT ecosystem based on domestic software" in the special nomination "Russian solutions for the IT industry: challenges and prospects".

In total, the competition received more than 1.5 thousand works from all over Russia, of which more than 300 were from participants in the Southern Federal District. The Krasnodar Territory and the Rostov Region sent the most materials to the Southern Federal District. Among the Don journalists, the journalists of the Komsomolskaya Pravda – Rostov-on-Don and Molot newspapers also became prize-winners.

The participants competed in five main categories ("Print Media", "Television and video content in the media", "Radio and Podcasts", "Online Media", "Social Media") and five special ones. The competition is supported by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.
