On May 14, the 10th Anniversary Congress of the Russian Engineering Union was held in Moscow at the Rossiya National Center.

The delegation included the heads of large Don enterprises (Rostvertol, Kamenskkhimvolokno, NEVZ), as well as rectors of leading Don universities, including the rector of the Southern Federal University Inna Shevchenko.

The key event of the congress was a speech by Russian President Vladimir Putin, who noted the great contribution of machine-building enterprises to maintaining the stability of the economy and ensuring the technological sovereignty of the country.

The Congress summed up the results of the Union's work over a five-year period, determined the vector of development for a new cycle until 2030 and decided to re-elect Sergey Chemezov as chairman of the Union of Machine Builders. The proposal to nominate him was initiated by the Rostov regional office.

This is a recognition of the university's contribution to the training of engineering personnel and the development of scientific and educational partnership with the military-industrial complex.

The Rostov regional branch of Soyuzmash took the first place among all branches according to the results of the rating. The Governor of Rostov Region, Yuri Slyusar, who is the vice-president of the employers' association of the Union of Machine Builders, thanked the department's management for their productive activities and stressed that the Rostov Region was actively involved in solving the tasks of ensuring the country's technological leadership.

The head of the Ministry of Education and Science emphasized the role of universities in training personnel for the military-industrial complex.
