Young scientists of SFedU took part in the largest international conference "Lomonosov 2024"

The largest international conference for young scientists in Russia, Lomonosov 2024, was held from April 12 to 26.

The friendly staff of the Department of Soil Science and Land Resources Assessment of the Academy of Biology and Biotechnology of the Southern Federal University, represented by students, masters and postgraduates, traditionally takes part in this event. Young scientists of the department annually take prizes in the section "Soil Science", demonstrating a high level of knowledge of the research topic, which contributes to the popularity of the Southern Federal University among soil scientists, ecologists, geographers and microbiologists from other regions and strengthening interuniversity partnerships. Acting Dean of the Faculty of Soil Science of Moscow State University. P.V. Lomonosov Krasilnikov emphasized in his welcoming speech that he was very pleased with the cooperation between the soil scientists of Moscow State University and SFedU, and also wished success to the young scientists of our university in their scientific work.

This year, young scientists of the Department of Soil Science and Land Resources Assessment of the SFedU Academy of Biology and Biotechnology took 4 prizes. Within the framework of the plenary session, the second-year postgraduate student A.I. Barbashev took the first place with the topic of the report "Key technologies and modern methods of bioremediation of contaminated soils", within the section "Chemistry and mineralogy of soils", the second-year postgraduate student T.S. Dudnikova took the first place with the report "Sorption and desorption of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the soils of the coastal territories of Taganrog gulf" and the first-year master's degree Gritsai M.A. – the second place with the topic of the report "Metal-organic frame polymers for remediation of soils contaminated with heavy metals", within the framework of the section "Conservation and improvement of soil fertility", first-year master Popov V.R. took the third place with the report "Resistance of different plant species to man-made pollution".
