The RAEX agency has published the subject ratings of Russian universities for the third time. In 2024, the number of evaluated areas increased to 36 – 170 universities from 43 regions of Russia were included in the lists of the best. Moscow and St. Petersburg significantly outperform other regions of the country in terms of representation in the rankings - the two capitals account for 65 universities included in the subject lists. The closest pursuer in terms of the number of participants is Tatarstan (10 participants), followed by the Novosibirsk Region (6 universities), Nizhny Novgorod and Rostov regions (5 universities each).

SFedU entered the top 10 best universities in five areas: "Geography" - 6th place, "Biology" - 8th, "Pedagogical Education" - 6th, "Sociology" - 10th and "Hospitality Industry" - 9th.

Southern Federal University was also included in the TOP 20 subject ranking in the following areas: "Chemistry" - 11th place, "Physics" -16, "Philology and Journalism" - 13, "Economics" - 15, "Information Technology" - 11, "History and Archaeology" - 12, "Psychology" - 11 "Materials Technologies" - 15, "Political Science and International Relations" - 17, "Law" - 13, "Management" - 12, "Ecology" - 12, "Electronics, Radio Engineering and Communication Systems" - 13, "Mathematics" - 17.

SFedU has improved its position in most areas. In the direction of the "Hospitality Industry", the university entered the rating for the first time.
