Inspiring campus environment

The University is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment to its faculty, staff, and students. Depending on your choice, you may be based at our Rostov-on-Don campus or Taganrog campus, located in the largest multi-ethnic cities in the South of Russia.

Southern Federal University also has two affiliated colleges in Novoshakhtinsk and Gelendzhik, a coastal town on the Black Sea coast.

Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog are located at the crossroads of Russias major research centres with easy travel links to Moscow, Kazan, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, and Novosibirsk from the recently opened Platov airport. In Rostov all the natural sciences and mathematics faculties, departments and research institutes are located in close physical proximity to each other, while the humanities and social science faculties are spread throughout the city. The Taganrog campus is home to our engineering institutes and design centres.

The SFedU Library The main university library can be found on Pushkinskaya Street, on the site of a historic mansion. SFedU Library provides its academics and researchers with free access to a wide range of full-text databases, including Web of science, Scopus, SciVal, Springer Link and other digital resources.

SPORT The university sports facilities include an Olympic-sized swimming pool available on a payable basis.

Events, cultural and onboarding programmes During your stay at SFedU, our International Support Team will organise several orientation meetings and cultural events for international scholars and researchers that aim to help you settle in smoothly and learn more about Southern Federal University, its facilities, education and research environment, campus life, etc.
