Родился 31.12.1975 г., в городе Дилижане, Республики Армения.
Окончил в 2003 г. Ростовский-на-Дону госуниверситет, биолого-почвенный факультет, кафедру биохимии и микробиологии по специальности био[bvbz.
В 2003-2006 гг. обучался в аспирантуре, а в 2007 г. защитил кандидатскую диссертацию по специальностям 03.00.07 - "Микробиология" и 03.00.04 - "Биохимия" на тему "Изучение белковых антигенов Helicobacter pylori на основе моноклональных антител".
В 2001-2003 ; инженер лаборатории комплексной экологической экспертизы ГУП НИИ АзНИИРХ, 2003 - 2004 биолог в микробиологическом подразделении КДЛ ГУЗ ОМЛДЦ, с 2006 г.- по настоящее время ; работает на кафедре биохимии и микробиологии Академии биологии и биотехнологии им. Д.И. Ивановского в должности доцента.
Областью профессиональных интересов является биохимия, молекулярная биология, биотехнология, протеомика.

Вечканов Е.М. активно участвует в научно-исследовательской работе "Исследование окислительно-нитрозильного стресса при травме в условиях индуцированной гипергомоцистеинемии.
Вечканов Е. М принимал участие в научно-исследовательской работе по следующим направлениям: "Влияние СКЭНАР-воздействия на интенсивность свободно-радикальных процессов и состояние про- и антиоксидантных систем плазмы крови и эритроцитов крыс при моделировании острой гипоксии", "Посттрансляционные модификации белков при онтологическом процессе". Участвовал в научно-исследовательской работе по ряду грантов. Имеет 32 научные публикации.

Учебно-методическая работа
Имеет свыше 18 учебно-методических разработок, выставленных в ИИК ЮФУ.
Является автором ООП магистратуры на основе ФГОСТ ВО "Основы фундаментальной биомедицины"
Принимал участие в разработке ООП 020400- Биология на остнове ФГОСТ 3 поколения.
Biography Born on 31.12.1975, at Dilijan, Armenia. Graduated in 2003, Rostov-on-Don State University, Biological Faculty, Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology, specialty Biology. In 2003-2006 was a postgraduate student, and in 2007 he defended his thesis "The study of protein antigens of Helicobacter pylori using monoclonal antibodies" in the fields 03.00.07 - "Microbiology" and 03.00.04 - "Biochemistry". In 2001-2003 ; worked as an engineer in the Laboratory of integrated environmental assessment at the Research Institute of AzNIIRH, in 2003 - 2004 as a microbiologist, since 2006 - up to now - working at the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology, Faculty of Biological Sciences at SFU as an associate professor. Professional interests are biochemistry, molecular biology, and biotechnology.

Vechkanov E. M. is involved in research work on the following:
"The influence of SCENAR impact on the intensity of free radical processes and the state of pro-and antioxidant systems of blood plasma and red blood cells of rats with model acute hypoxia ",
"Post-translational modification of proteins in the ontological process. "
He took part in the research work on a number of grants. Has 32 scientific publications.
Methodical work
Vechkanov E. M has more than 18 educational and teaching materials on display in the IIC SFU.He participated in the development of the PLO 020400 - Biology FGOST 3.
A member of the educational-methodical commission Faculty of Biological Sciences.
At the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology is responsible for maintaining documents for instructional component for the teachers of the department.
