Shilina Natalia was born in Rostov-on-Don. 
She graduated art-graphic faculty of the Rostov State Pedagogical Institute in 1990.
From 1990 to 2006 she worked in Rostov Technological College of light industry as a teacher of such disciplines, as: "Special drawing and graphic arts", "Special composition, "The History of style in costume". She developed and implemented original programs which were named "The basics of batik", "Trademark and corporate style", etc.
She was chairman of the admission committee for admission examinations in drawing, also she was chairman of the methodological commission of the disciplines observational cycle. 
In 2000-2004 she led an original course of training of image makers and consultants in various areas in the "Training center DARA".
In 2001-2003 she worked as a senior teacher of the Department of decorative art-graphic faculty of the Rostov Pedagogical University, she also led the courses "History of costume", "Textile Art. Batik and patchwork".
In 2005-2006 she completed a professional retraining course at the Institute of retraining and advanced training “Rostov State University” in the specialty "Sociology".
In 2006 she defended her candidate's dissertation (Russian State Pedagogical University, Rostov-on-Don, specialty - Sociology of culture and spiritual life) on the topic: "Transformation of masculinity in the Russian society, socio-cultural analysis". 
In 2006 she started to work as a senior lecturer in the Department of fine arts at the Rostov Institute of Architecture and she led these courses: "Drawing", "Painting".
She has been a Professor’s associate of Department of fine arts since 2007, since 2008 she has been a Professor’s associate of the Department of drawing.
In 2011 she took part as a member of the expert council and member of jury in the regional exhibition-contest "I love you, Russia".
In the 2012-2013 academic year she was responsible for organizing practices in Institute of architecture and art SFI and has developed instructions of security measures during the plein-air practice.
