Born in Novocherkassk. Graduated from Secondary School No. 1 in Novocherkassk and entered the Faculty of Biology and Soil Science at Rostov State University. After successfully completing her Bachelor’s degree (2005) and Master’s degree (2007) at the Faculty of Biology, Southern Federal University, she joined the Department of Genetics, where she progressed from Assistant to Associate Professor at the Department of Genetics.
After completing her postgraduate studies at the Department of Genetics in 2012, she successfully defended her Candidate’s dissertation on the topic “Epigenetic, Molecular‑Genetic and Biochemical Criteria for Human Embryogenesis Disorders” and received the diploma of Candidate of Biological Sciences in the specialty 03.03.05 — Developmental Biology, Embryology.

In 2008, E. G. Derevyanchuk became the winner of the All‑Russian competition “Participant of the Youth Research and Innovation Competition” (U.M.N.I.K.), organized by the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere, and received a grant to conduct research on the topic: “Development of a New Test System for Assessing the Fetal Condition.”
In 2009, she received a First‑Degree Diploma for the poster presentation “Study of Homocysteine Dynamics at Different Gestational Weeks in Normal Pregnancy” at the “Young Scientist” competition, held within the framework of the III International Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Problems of Biology, Nanotechnology and Medicine” (Rostov‑on‑Don).
In 2010, she was awarded a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) under the program “Research Scholarships for Young Scientists,” which enabled her to carry out part of her research at the Department of Genetics, Saarland University, under the supervision of Prof. Jörn Walter.
In May 2011, she took first place at the Young Scientists Competition held within the framework of the International Congress “Early Pregnancy” (RUDN University, Moscow).
In September 2011, she received a diploma for first place in the Young Scientists Competition in the section “Genomic and Post‑Genomic Technologies,” held within the framework of the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Problems of Biology, Nanotechnology and Medicine” (Rostov‑on‑Don); co‑recipient of the Small Gold Medal for the development of a bioinformatics technology for identifying the relationship between organization scenarios in animal and human genomes of non‑coding DNA and protein‑coding DNA, RosBioTech‑2012.
In 2013, she received a diploma for first place for the best research project in the Young Scientists Competition at the V International Conference “Current Problems of Biology, Medicine and Nanotechnology,” Rostov‑on‑Don.
She took first place for the best poster presentation at the III Interregional Scientific and Practical Conference “Cell Technologies for Practical Healthcare” (Yekaterinburg) in 2014 (“Institute of Medical Cell Technologies,” Yekaterinburg).
