From May 20 to May 24, the Southern Federal University for the first time holds the All-Russian Student Sports Contest on inclusive sports "Sport without Borders".
The large-scale event will bring together students of Russian universities, including students with disabilities.
The opening ceremony of the Spartakiad will take place on May 20 at the Marins Rostov-on-Don Hotel. It will be attended by the Rector of SFedU Inna Shevchenko, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Olga Petrova, Head of the Department for the Realization of professional opportunities for Youth of the Department of State Youth Policy and Educational Activities of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Maxim Dmitriev, Acting Veronika Chernyshova, Minister of Education of the Rostov Region, Irina Zhukova, Chairman of the Committee of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov Region on Interaction with public associations, Youth Policy, Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as partners and organizers of the Sports Contest.
The main games of the Spartakiad will be held at the Arsenal Stadium from May 21 to 24. For several days, participants will compete in athletics, swimming, table tennis, chess, darts, boccia and sitting volleyball. In addition to the sports program, the SFedU will host seminars, workshops, trainings and discussion platforms dedicated to the development of inclusive sports and adaptive physical education.
Holding the first All-Russian Student Sports Contest in Inclusive Sports will be an important step for the development of inclusive education and the student sports movement. The project aims to create a space where sports become accessible to everyone, and the achievements of the participants are an example of strength, perseverance and mutual support.
