On March 22, as part of the Student Spring Festival, the Carnival Night concert of the SFedU Faculty of Economics was held at the Rostov-on-Don Regional House of Folk Art.
The plot is based on the Soviet comedy musical film "Carnival Night" directed by Eldar Ryazanov.
The action takes place back in 1955. The Palace of Culture named after Lenin is preparing for the New Year's Eve. The creative team creates the "Carnival Night" program. Lena Krylova, the organizer of the New Year's carnival, learns the news from electrician Grisha Koltsov that Comrade Ogurtsov has been appointed as the new director. Grisha has tender feelings for Lena, but does not dare to admit it to her. Lena is also not indifferent to the young man.

The new director, Serafim Ivanovich, meets with the youth team, where he immediately begins to establish his own bureaucratic procedures. Ogurtsov also wants to personally get acquainted with the numbers of the New Year's concert program. At the screening, Ogurtsov expresses dissatisfaction, considering the dancers' outfits too loose, the choir too small, and the stage decorations inexpressive. Lena and stage designer Seryozha Usykov agree that they will not contradict Ogurtsov, but will do everything in their own way.

Ogurtsov continues to reshape the scenario that the youth came up with in his own way. He decides to invite a lecturer from the Society for dissemination to the concert, replace the entertainer and personally deliver a report at the New Year's light.

Sergei Usykov "neutralizes" the lecturer by treating him to strong drinks at a local buffet, and Grisha Koltsov asks the magician to prevent Ogurtsov's performance.
And, of course, it is impossible to imagine this production without a song about 5 minutes, which gives a lot of positive emotions. The audience also warmly welcomed the creative performances of amateur artists: a jazz orchestra that performed a medley of famous Soviet songs, a foreign soloist, an illusionist magician, an incendiary Lezginka, a fashion show in costumes stylized as festive dishes.

One of the most memorable numbers of this concert was the song "Love, like a dream" performed by Lena Krylova, revealing the full range of feelings that a loving person can experience.

Ogurtsov is unable to resist the desire of young people to spend a festive evening in an interesting and fun way. As a result, youth and talent prevail over ridiculous bureaucratic attitudes. Ogurtsov sincerely regrets his desire to prevent young people from spending the evening the way they want and resigns his powers. Having overcome his shyness, Grisha Koltsov brilliantly spends the entire concert and at the end of the evening confesses his love for Lena, who reciprocates his feelings.

The production turned out to be very musical, sincere, funny, and bright. The audience appreciated the performance – they repeatedly applauded the artists throughout the concert.
