A professor from Israel gave a lecture at the mathematical seminar of the Russian Scientific Research Center SFedU

30 января 2026 г.

On January 29, Anatoly Golberg, Professor at the Holon Institute of Technology, Israel, gave a lecture at the regular scientific seminar of the Russian National Research Center of the Southern Federal University. The seminar was led by Professors A.N. Karapetyants and V.V. Kravchenko.

Anatoly Golberg – PhD, Professor at the Holon Institute of Technology, Head of the School of Mathematical Sciences, Israel. He is a recognized expert in the field of geometric function theory and geometric analysis. His research interests also cover extreme problems, computational methods, and related areas of modern mathematical analysis. Professor Golberg is the author of more than 60 scientific publications in leading international mathematical journals and actively participates in the organization of international conferences and scientific seminars. He is also a long-time partner of the RSEMC SFedU, who has repeatedly participated in the events of the SFedU Mathematical Center.

On January 29, Professor Golberg gave a lecture on weakly Lipschitz maps in the multidimensional case. In the one-dimensional case, Lipschitz continuity serves as a natural link between continuous differentiability and absolute continuity. However, in a multidimensional situation, this relatively simple picture becomes significantly more complicated. In his report, Professor Golberg examined the theory of Lipschitz functions in a multidimensional context and introduced the concept of weakly Lipschitz maps. It has been shown that such maps are absolutely continuous on almost all lines parallel to the coordinate axes, belong to the Sobolev class, and that any metrically quasi-conformal map is weakly Lipschitzian.

The seminar "Seminar on Analysis, Differential Equations and Mathematical Physics" was attended by more than thirty mathematicians from the world's leading scientific and educational centers in Russia and other countries, including graduate students and students of the SFedU Institute of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science and young scientists.

Online scientific seminar of the Regional Scientific and Educational Mathematical Center (https://rmc.sfedu.ru /) it is held regularly every two weeks, announcements of new seminars and videos of previous seminars are available on the website http://msrn.sfedu.ru/sl  .

The seminar features leading researchers from around the world whose research interests are related to analysis, differential equations, and mathematical physics. The scientific seminar of the mathematical center is open, everyone can take part in it.

The language of the seminar is English.
