EuroMedia Media Holding and SFedU presented a film about Rostov scientist, radio presenter and local historian Vladislav Smirnov

On December 6, the premiere of the documentary film "Professor Smirnov" took place at the Don State Public Library, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of Vladislav V. Smirnov, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Southern Federal University.

The film "Professor Smirnov" is a joint project of the EuroMedia Holding and the Media Center of the SFedU Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication.

Vladislav V. Smirnov taught journalism students at the Russian State University of Economics and then the Southern Federal University from 1978 to 2014. During this time, he wrote a huge number of scientific and documentary works about radio journalism, the media system and the history of Rostov-on-Don. Today, the keepers and popularizers of the outstanding professor's legacy are his wife Elena Petrovna and son Andrey Vladislavovich. Andrey Smirnov has completed and published several books started by his father, and Elena Smirnova, together with the SFedU Endowment Fund, has become the organizer of the Smirnov scholarship. She also acted as the main narrator in the film "Professor Smirnov", where she shared many personal memories.

Professor Smirnov is also remembered by his many students, now the editors-in-chief and renowned journalists of Rostov and federal media. Some of them shared their memories of their favorite teacher in the film itself, others came to the premiere and did it at an open microphone while discussing the documentary.

Producer Vladimir Denisov, screenwriter and director Yulia Serebryakova, cinematographer Sergey Perepelkin, editing director Svyatoslav Gordin, announcer Vladimir Dobritsky and designer Natalia Vinogradova worked on the film.

The film is currently in the public domain. and anyone can find it on the Internet.
