On September 29, the final of the Rostov-on-Don Cup among men and women was held. The finalists included Anna Potatueva, Master of Sports, coach of the SFedU draughts team, teacher of the Academy of Physical Culture and Sports and Ilya Keda, CMS, 4th year student of the SFedU Faculty of Physics.
Each game in the final of the competition was decisive. Having shown good preparation and played all the games efficiently, even with the favorites of the tournament, SFedU student Ilya Keda was able to get into the top three among juniors and won a bronze medal.
Anna Potatueva, the coach of the SFedU draughts team, won the first place among women.
"These competitions are significant for the entire draughts sports community, as the strongest draughts players of the region live in the city of Rostov-on-Don and all tournaments are held in a stubborn struggle. I would like to note that getting the right to play in this tournament (reaching the final) Ilya, this is a serious step in his career. He is still a young candidate for the master of sports, but already shows homemade preparations in parties and imposes a fight at the board. This is a good indicator of his growth as an athlete," Anna Potatueva shared.
