On the Day of Russian Science in SFedU they told about the innovative developments of young scientists

On February 8, the main building of the Southern Federal University hosted a media briefing with young scientists of the Southern Federal University.

This year, the Russian Science Festival has a special significance for the university.

Rector of SFedU Inna Shevchenko congratulated the participants of the briefing on the Day of Russian Science and noted that today the Year of Science and Technology starts in SFedU.

"This year is an important stage for the university and for the whole country, a special milestone in its development. Now we not only evaluate the results of our activities, realize the enormous importance of science in the life of society, but also assign it a primary role in the formation and creation of our future. It must be said that everyone who comes into contact with the university world is already immersed in science, regardless of their own awareness of it. The future of SFedU students is somehow inextricably linked with science, " Inna Shevchenko stressed.

Also in the format of a video message on the Day of Russian Science, the participants of the briefing were congratulated by the President of SFedU Marina Borovskaya:

"Russia expects large-scale scientific breakthroughs and achievements from us, so we hope that this success will be supported by new technologies and solutions. I really want the efforts made by scientists and teachers to be effective, and Russian science will become the driver of the development of the Russian economy and the state."

The briefing was opened in an online format by the scientific director of the SFedU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Minkin.

Vladimir Isaakovich spoke about the world and Russian scientific achievements, as well as the role of the Southern Federal University in world science and congratulated the guests and participants of the event on the holiday.

"SFedU is a major scientific center. The University works in many directions, and in a multidisciplinary way. We live in the era of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and neural networks-areas that are developing in giant steps all over the world, " said Vladimir Minkin.

Within the framework of the briefing, an exhibition of innovative projects of young scientists of the university's scientific departments was held, most of which were supported by grants from the President of the Russian Federation.

One of the winners of the competition for a grant from the President of the Russian Federation, Olga Yezhova, presented three models of an inertial navigation system (INS) based on micro - and nanomechanical gyroscopes and accelerometers.

The youngest researchers-students of the Specialized Educational Scientific Center of the Southern Federal District-also presented their projects.

Among the developments is the mobile application "ISA", which allows you to structure the learning process.

A group of students of the 11th grade of the physics and mathematics direction: Alexey Kosenko, Ksenia Mizgina and Yegor Khlapov develops intelligent and entertaining computer and mobile games. The list of submitted games already includes Code: Fly() and ClickerHistory.

During the briefing, the developers told the media about their achievements, answering questions from journalists. In total, the exhibition six divisions of the Southern Federal University was represented by 14 projects.
