Oh, this wedding was singing and dancing: Student Spring of the SFedU Academy of Architecture and Arts

08.04.2024

On April 7, the wedding of Victor Van Dort and Victoria Evergloat took place on the stage of the Regional House of Folk Art in the student spring of the Academy of Architecture and Arts of SFedU "W".

The plot of spring tells the audience the story of Victor Van Dort, who, at the rehearsal of his wedding, encounters a dead bride named Emily. She wakes up from rehearsing Victor's oath and, deciding that he is her husband, takes him with her to the world of the dead.

During his acquaintance with Emily, Victor learns that the girl was deceived, robbed and killed by a certain Lord Barkis, after which she swore to herself that she would not be free until she met true love. She sincerely believes that Victor is her real husband, and therefore gladly accepts his offer to meet his parents. However, Emily later learns that her marriage to Victor is just a misunderstanding, and he did not go to the world of the living to meet, but to reunite with his fiancee Victoria.

But to the great disappointment of the guy, upon arrival in the world of the living, he learns that Victoria is already being prepared for the wedding with Lord Barkis, because according to the parents of the newlyweds, Victor ran away with another.

The guy accepts his fate and decides to marry Emily, thereby fulfilling his promise to her. He is even ready to die so that "death does not separate them" and perform the wedding ceremony according to all the rules. However, Emily realizes that Victor loves another girl, and decides to release him from his oath and thereby allow him to reunite with Victoria.

At the end of the concert, Emily turned into a flock of butterflies, which became a symbol of the spring of the Academy of Architecture and Arts, and found peace.

To convey the atmosphere of Tim Burton's cartoon, based on which the student spring was built, students of the Academy of Architecture and Arts of the Southern Federal University created many gloomy Gothic decorations and embodied the spirit of Burton's painting in images and costumes. The concert featured 16 performances of various genres, such as the author's song, neon show, shadow theater, vocal and choreographic performances, as well as the fashion theater.

In addition, many allusions to the student springs of other structural units appeared at the concert, which undoubtedly did not leave the audience indifferent.
