Student assessment
Southern Federal University uses a points system where 100 is a maximum number of points a student can reach during a semester. Students are usually assessed through in-semester assignments, pass-fail tests, and exams. Students are required to score at least 38 points during the semester and 22-40 on the exam. Some classes are based on a pass-fail system, meaning that no grade will be recorded on a students transcript.
Points are to be converted in the transcript of records according to a 5-point grading scale from 2 to 5. If a student gets a ‘5 (or ‘excellent) it means he/she has shown outstanding knowledge whereas if a student gets a ‘2 (or ‘failed) it means his/her score is not sufficient to pass the exam.
85-100 points = 5 (excellent)
74-84 points = 4 (good)
60-73= 3 (satisfactory)
