Accommodation

We offer guaranteed accommodation in university-owned halls of residence to every incoming exchange student. If you are coming to Rostov-on-Don or Taganrog for the first time, you will benefit from the opportunity to live in the university accommodation that provides our students with security and an academically supportive environment. Our student halls in the Rostov campus are close-knit communities where students can easily make friends from around the world. They are located within walking distance from our natural sciences and mathematics faculties and research institutes.

SFedU halls of residence are large buildings, divided into apartments with either a single room or 2 rooms shared with another student. Apartments include a kitchen, a bedroom/s and bathroom facilities. Each room is furnished with a bed, desk, chair, and a closet space. Laundry facilities are located on the first floor of hall 9B. Due to high demand on single-room apartments, we offer them on a first come first served basis. Therefore, dont hesitate to send us your accommodation preferences at nklyuchko@sfedu.ru.

Fees and housing tips
May-September: 1900 RUB/month
October-April: 2400 RUB/month

Residency fees do not cover Internet connection. Also, please bear in mind that you will need to buy your own kitchen and household items, including a fridge, cutlery, crockery, pans, cleaning products, etc.

Sports Facilities

The university campus offers opportunities to take part in a variety of sports and social events. A free indoor fitness suite is available to all students living in our Rostov halls of residence. Our sports facilities also include a 50-m swimming pool (within a 5-minute walk from the campus), volleyball, basketball, football and tennis courts. Any sports equipment you need is available at the reception of hall 9B.

Medical Certificates

All international students who are applying for accommodation at Southern Federal University must have standard health clearance for serious communicable diseases (HIV, Hepatitis B, C, Tuberculosis, etc.) and are required to present relevant test results when checking in.

Safety and Support

The SFedU halls of residence have their own Medical Centre which offers health services to ensure that our students feel safe and supported throughout their stay. Our therapist is there to provide advice and support for emotional and mental issues. Our buddy volunteers at the SFedU International Student Support Centre will provide all the necessary support by regularly staying in touch with you and sharing their tips and experiences about student life at SFedU.

Living off-campus
International exchange students have a choice of living off campus and renting a room or a flat during their time abroad. It is a students responsibility to search for private sector accommodation, but we can help point you in the right direction of where to find secure and affordable housing.
