Applying for your student visa

Incoming exchange students generally require a student visa for entry into Russia. A student visa can be obtained from the Russian Consulate in your home country. To apply for a student visa, you will need an official visa invitation from SFedU. Our team will be happy to advise you on the visa regulations and provide the invitation by e-mail. Currently, the approval process for a student visa invitation takes between 1-1.5 months.

To receive an official visa invitation, make sure you have the following documents ready:
▪ Scanned copy of your passport/ID card
▪ Application Form (filled in and signed)

Please note: A Russian student visa is initially a single-entry visa and is valid only for 90 days. Once you have arrived at SFedU, you can extend your stay up to a total of 6 months or 1 year, depending on the type of your mobility. Your multi-entry visa will be ready within 45 days after submission of the application.
