On September 28, the XXIX Student Marathon was held on a large scale at the site of the United Student Campus of the Southern Federal University. This most vibrant and large-scale creative event of the fall brought hundreds of first-year students together again, revealing new facets of SFedU student life.
A special feature of the marathon is always its theatricality and deep elaboration of images. And although the winning points were earned not only through the show, but also through objective sports and intellectual competitions, the winning teams surprised the jury and the audience with their creativity.
The Faculty of Economics (1st place) immersed everyone in the atmosphere of a real Russian "Bathhouse". Their team was remembered not only for their warmth and "hot mood", but also for their branded brooms, which became their calling card.

The Institute of High Technology and Piezo Engineering (2nd place) presented a daring and self-confident gang from West Central in the style of a cult film. Their concept of "Don't threaten West Central by drinking juice at your faculty" was executed with maximum atmosphere and fidelity to the original.

Institute of History and International Relations (3rd place) He's set up a real "Tribe" on campus. The students breathed life into exotic and vivid images, awakening, in their words, "the primitive, wild spirit of the ancestors."

This year's intellectual competitions consisted of three games: The Main Discipline, a Team game with false starts and a Quiz. Creativity was evaluated in three contests: Art, Business Card and Creative. But for athletes, there was a full campus of stations with instructors.

The winners in the individual blocks were distributed as follows:
Sports Unit — Faculty of Economics;
Creative Block — Institute of History and International Relations;
The intellectual block is the Faculty of Economics.
The instructor of the Kolodets station, Georgy Chmel, shared his impressions.

"When you're a marathon participant, you know everything about your team and what other faculties are preparing, and when you're an instructor, everything is a surprise to you. In order to score maximum points at my station, the "athletes" need to follow the rules strictly and be able to work in a team, but the "creatives" will also have to evoke sincere emotions," said Georgy Chmel.

In addition to the winners, other teams also distinguished themselves with vivid and memorable concepts. The Institute of Philosophy and Socio-Political Sciences with the theme "Duck Stories" created an incredibly cheerful and recognizable atmosphere of a cult cartoon on the site, reminding everyone of the importance of family and adventurous spirit.

The Academy of Architecture and Arts immersed the audience in the era of luxury and elegance with the theme "Ball in the style of Marie Antoinette". Their images were impeccable and emphasized their exquisite taste.
The Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communications energized everyone with the concept of "Football fans". The guys showed not just the support of the team, but the true dedication and spirit of the fans, conveying powerful collective emotions.

The Institute of Sociology and Regional Studies sent everyone on a journey through time with the nostalgic theme "2k17", masterfully recreating the memes, fashion and mood of the late 2010s.
The Faculty of Chemistry chose a simple but always relevant topic, "Catering". Their cheerful and spontaneous love of fast food, reinforced by treats, resonated with many participants of the celebration.

The SFedU Student Marathon is held as part of the "Open. Create it. Unite", which became the winner in the Rosmolodezh competition. . The event once again proved that SFedU students are not only future highly qualified specialists, but also incredibly talented, cohesive and creative people.
