More than 300 guests gathered at the Central House of Scientists, where this solemn event was held as part of the project "Relay of the first Gagarin–Che Guevara: on the 60th anniversary of the Russian Friendship Society with Cuba." Among them: members of the Board of the RSFC, representatives of regional branches of the Society, the head of the diplomatic mission and diplomats of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in the Russian Federation, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Rossotrudnichestvo and other distinguished guests.

Natalia Karpovskaya, Head of the Regional Branch of the Southern Federal University for the Rostov Region, Director of the International Institute of Interdisciplinary Education and Ibero-American Studies at the Southern Federal University, delivered a report on "The experience of the Southern Federal University: Initiative Projects with the support of the Regional Branch of the Southern Federal University for the Rostov Region."

The conference participants were particularly interested in key projects of the Southern Federal University, such as the opening of a branch of SFedU in Cuba, the implementation of a comprehensive internship program for Cuban students "Internship in Russia is a step to success!", international scientific and practical conferences with the participation of representatives of universities in Cuba and other Caribbean countries.

For many years, SFedU has maintained close cooperation with Cuban universities, organizations and the Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba, implementing numerous projects aimed at expanding and strengthening academic and scientific ties between Russian and Cuban universities, as well as promoting friendly relations between our peoples.
