The VI Russian Cultural Congress with international participation "Cultural Identity in the space of tradition and Innovation" was held in Moscow.
The event was organized on the basis of the Russian Scientific Research Institute of Cultural and Natural Heritage named after D. S. Likhachev, under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, in cooperation and partnership with a number of leading research, scientific, educational and scientific educational organizations of our country. The SFedU delegation took part in this event. The delegation of the Southern Federal University included Gennady Drach, PhD, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, PhD, Professor Taisiya Paniotova, PhD, Professor Elena Zolotukhina, PhD, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Theory of Culture, Ethics and Aesthetics Ekaterina Lipets, Ph.D., Associate Professor Maxim Romanenko, Ph.D., teacher Irina Zabubenina.
On October 30, the Grand opening of the Congress and a plenary session were held in the Great Hall of the Central House of Scientists of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow: "Fundamental problems of modern cultural studies. Cultural identity in the space of tradition and innovation". Sergey Stepashin, Chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society and Chairman of the Russian Book Union, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. He noted the relevance of the congress and indicated that this is an opportunity for each participant of the Congress.
"Now, in such a difficult time, it is cultural studies, as a science that studies culture, that can provide answers to questions about the role and place of the humanitarian sphere as a factor in preserving human society," Sergei Stepashin said.
Olga Kazakova, Chairman of the Committee on Culture of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, in her welcoming speech stressed:
"We have now felt in practice how strong culture is and actually strengthens us." Also at the plenary session, PhD, Professor G.V. Drach made a presentation on "Cultural diversity and the modern world".
As part of the cultural congress, breakout sessions were held at which issues of cultural theory, state cultural policy of Russia, culture of digitalization and artificial intelligence, the cultural component of national security, cultural aspects of protecting the Fatherland and others were considered. Representatives of the Southern Federal University made presentations at the sections: "Theory of culture" (Paniotova T.S., Romanenko M.A.); "Cultural studies of everyday life" (Zolotukhina E.V.); "Cultural space of a modern city: the ratio of tradition and innovation" (Lipets E.Yu.); "Cultural studies of art" (Zabubenina I.K.).
