On September 23-24, Rector of the Southern Federal University Inna Shevchenko paid a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The visit of the delegation of the Rostov region headed by Governor Vasily Golubev began with a visit to the Memorial complex "Mass Graves". The delegation included representatives of the Don universities, including the rector of the Southern Federal University Inna Shevchenko. Inna Konstantinovna took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the Eternal flame.

Then, as part of a visit to the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in the Republic of Uzbekistan, a meeting was held with graduates of the Russian State University (now SFedU), among whom Bakhtiyor Dushaev, lead inspector of the Accounting Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Abiddin Mahmudov, Adviser to the Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, writer, publicist, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Shukhrat Ruziev, head of the personnel department Shakhrisabz State Pedagogical Institute, Olim Akhmedov, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences of the Uzbek State University of World Languages, Director of the Russian Center for Science, Education, Culture and Language at UzSWLU, Mukhitdin Mamarazakov, PhD, entrepreneur.

"SFedU, together with universities of Uzbekistan, organizes cultural, educational and scientific events and projects on a regular basis, conducts seminars, round tables, open lectures, etc. We plan to develop cooperation in the field of joint research in the field of languages, intercultural communication, popularization of the Russian language and culture in Uzbekistan and the Uzbek language in the South of Russia," Inna Shevchenko said.

The graduates of the SFedU stressed the importance of developing ties with teachers and researchers of the Southern Federal University to strengthen relations between countries and regions, especially with the Rostov region, and thanked the organizers of the meeting.

An important event of the visit was the signing of an agreement on joint supervision of postgraduate students and doctoral students between the Southern Federal University and the Uzbek State University of World Languages. The agreement was signed by the rector of SFedU Inna Shevchenko and the rector of the Uzbek State University of World Languages Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov. Within the framework of the agreement, it is assumed that universities will conduct dual scientific management of research by postgraduate students and doctoral students, develop development programs in new scientific fields and research methods, organize and participate in joint scientific and practical conferences, symposiums and other events that contribute to the development of science and the scientific potential of partner universities.

The Rector of SFedU also visited the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Inna Shevchenko also met with the rector of UzSWLU to discuss issues of cooperation between universities in the implementation of scientific and educational activities and visited the Russian-Uzbek Center for Education, Language and Culture.

On September 24, in the city of Jizzakh, the rector of SFedU took part in the business forum "Development of trade and economic cooperation between the Rostov and Jizzakh regions". In addition, Inna Shevchenko visited large industrial enterprises of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
