The SFedU hosts the International Scientific Conference OTHA-2024

27.08.2024

On August 26, the SFedU hosted the opening of the conference "OTHA-2024: Modern methods, problems and applications of operator theory and harmonic analysis".

From August 25 to August 30, the Southern Federal University hosts the international scientific conference "OTHA-2024: Modern methods, problems and applications of operator theory and harmonic analysis". The conference topics are traditionally related to various interrelated areas of fundamental mathematics: aspects of harmonic analysis and operator theory, elliptic equations, approximation theory, theory of partial differential equations, models and methods in probability theory and others.

The conference is held with the involvement of leading experts and participants from various regions of Russia, as well as from Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

During the conference, there are 5 parallel sections: “Functional analysis, operator theory and approximation theory"; “Differential equations and mathematical physics"; “Probabilistic analytical models and methods" and two special sections: “Modern problems of hydrodynamics", dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Professor Viktor Iosifovich Yudovich and “Modern Problems of Mechanics” dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Professor Yuri Anatolyevich Ustinov.

The organizer of the conference and the Chairman of the Conference Program Committee is Alexey Karapetyants, PhD, Director of the Russian Scientific Research Center of the Southern Federal University, Professor of the Institute of Economics of the Southern Federal University. The conference is included in the Development Program of the Regional Scientific and Educational Mathematical Center of the Southern Federal University and is supported by the relevant project of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Agreement No. 075-02-2024-1427. A significant number of participants, including young scientists and plenary lecturers, received financial support to participate in the conference.

Plenary lecturers of the conference: Alexey Karapetyants (Russia/Rostov-on-Don), Adolf Mirotin (Belarus), Tatyana Suslina (Russia/With.St. Petersburg), Debbush Amar (Algeria), Andrey Muravnik (Russia/Moscow), Anatoly Kusraev (Russia/Vladikavkaz), Yakov Yerkalimsky (Russia/Rostov-on-Don), Alexander Buffetov (Russia/Moscow), Leonid Rossovsky (Russia/Moscow), Mikhail Lyalinov (Russia/With.St. Petersburg), Mamadsho Ilolov (Tajikistan), Pavel Gevorgyan (Russia/Moscow), Yuri Gliklikh (Russia/Voronezh), Stanislav Shaposhnikov (Russia/Moscow), Maria Skopina (Russia/St. Petersburg), Andrey Morgulis (Russia/Rostov-on-Don), Zalina Kusraeva (Russia/Vladikavkaz), Armen Vagharshakyan (Armenia).

The lectures of the plenary lecturers will be recorded and, after due revision, will be posted on the Internet on the conference channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMC1h55SjWn5hkRShZ7fhEw ).

Selected articles of OTHA-2024 participants will be considered for publication in the scientific journal Journal of Mathematical Sciences (Series A) - Editor-in-chief A.N.Karapetyants.

In order to familiarize the guests with the ethnography, history and traditions of the Don Region, the organizers of the conference will conduct a boat tour along the Don River with the participation of the Cossack folk song ensemble and an excursion to the city of Azov.
