The annual St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was held in St. Petersburg from 5 to 8 June.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is a large–scale event in the world of economics and business. The Forum gathers representatives of the business community to discuss the most important issues of economic development.
The forum is traditionally attended by representatives of higher educational institutions of the country, including the Southern Federal University. This year, a panel discussion was held at the forum, where the contribution of the Priority 2030 program to the implementation of national projects and global tasks of the country was discussed. During the discussion on the contribution of research developments of Russian universities implemented within the framework of the national project "Science and Universities" to the development of the socio-economic space of the country and the achievement of federal goals, the experts of the site highly appreciated the results of the joint work of the Center for Sustainable Development of the Southern Federal University and MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia on the creation of the Tourist Atlas information and analytical system. In addition, various sections of the forum were visited by students of several structural divisions of SFedU, among them Angelina Litvinenko, a graduate student of the Faculty of Business "Captains" of SFedU, she took part in a discussion at the stand of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation "Startup as a diploma" — the basis for the development of entrepreneurial culture among students." This year, Angelina Litvinenko, as part of the defense of her final qualifying work, will present the results of the implementation of the startup Art Studio Gornitsa.
Stanislav Leonchik, a student at the I.I. Vorovich Institute of Mathematics, Mechanics and Computer Science of the Southern Federal University, also became a participant in SPIEF 2024, he attended a number of educational sessions, among them: "Development of the video game industry and game analytics", which talked about current trends in the gaming sector of our country; "Innovative Economy: from the numbers to data, from technological sovereignty to technological leadership", at which representatives of large companies shared their vision of ways to develop the IT industry; "Russia is a country of entrepreneurial opportunities", during which experts discussed the problems and ways of developing the field of artificial intelligence in Russia.
"SPIEF brings invaluable experience of participating in business events. I wanted to find out how the modern economy works and get to know experts in this field. Thanks to the lectures of the invited speakers, I learned how to improve my "soft" or social skills. I am sure that this will allow me to become much more successful in the field of information technology," Stanislav shared.
Students of the Faculty of Management of SFedU Artur Soroka, Olga Gogoleva, Victoria Tyutereva and Sofia Kushnareva attended various interactive lectures and meetings on the development of artificial intelligence, economics and business.

The forum was also attended by students of the Faculty of Economics of SFedU Daria Laskova, Alexandra Protsenko, Olga Dolgova and Daria Livada, a student of the Institute of Sociology and Regional Studies of SFedU.
