On October 3-4, 2023, Doctor of Social Sciences, Professor of the Department of Regionalism and Eurasian Studies of the Institute of Sociology and Regional Studies of the Southern Federal University, Honorary member of the Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia Maxim Vaskov participated in the international scientific conference "Problems of History and modernity of the Black Sea-Caucasus region".
The conference was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War of the people of Abkhazia in 1992-1993 and the 15th anniversary of the International recognition of the state independence of the Republic of Abkhazia. The event was held on the basis of the D.I. Gulia Abkhazian Institute of Humanitarian Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Abkhazia in Sukhum, Republic of Abkhazia. The Abkhazian State University and the State Committee of the Republic of Abkhazia for Repatriation also participated in its organization.
Professor Maxim Vaskov made a report at the plenary session of the conference on the topic "The Republic of Abkhazia in the system of interests of the countries of the Black Sea-Caspian region and global geopolitical players: challenges and prospects for cooperation".
