The joint project of the SFedU and Beijing Sports University includes a series of events in the direction of "Wellness Qigong and Tai Chi" in Russia.
The Academy of Physical Culture and Sports of the Southern Federal University and the Daoyin Yangsheng Gong Department of Beijing Sports University have developed an action plan for the implementation of this project. It included the conduct of online classes by specialists from China in the form of seminars on Qigong and Tai Chi during the week of academic mobility, the participation of the best students in International and All-Russian tournaments on Qigong and Tai Chi, held both offline and online formats. Also, the long-term plan includes the creation of a Center for developing and improving systems of the East on the basis of the SFedU, where teachers of educational schools and secondary vocational educational institutions will be able to receive training in additional education programs and further teach Wellness Qigong in their educational institutions.

Within the framework of the international scientific conference "Antistress and geroprotective potential of health systems of Russia and China" held in February 2023, plenary sessions and master classes from leading specialists and experts on this health system were held. The participants of the conference were the contestants of the Olympiad of students in the specialty "Physical Culture and Sports" taking place at this time in SFedU — students from almost twenty federal universities and specialized sports universities of Russia.
Director of the Academy of Physical Culture and Sports of SFedU Tatiana Stepanova, speaking to the conference participants, noted:
"The topic we are discussing should be of interest not only to the professional community of doctors and trainers, but also to everyone who wants to maintain health, vigor of the body and fortitude at the age of 120."

From the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, classes on Health-improving Qigong within elective disciplines in physical culture and sports began at the Southern Federal University for undergraduate students of 1-3 courses. Students of all departments of the university who have signed up in advance in the student's personal account can attend classes.
"Classes are held four times a week in two locations: Zorge, 40 and 23-line, 43. For the first time in Russia, we have started to conduct classes for university students under the "Wellness Qigong" program. We took the program of the Beijing Sports University as a basis. Now students are mastering the first general strengthening complex in the Daoyin Yangsheng Gong system, and as soon as they master it, we will begin to get acquainted with more complex sets of exercises," explained Ekaterina Afonina, PhD, senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Culture of the Academy of Physical Culture and Sports.
Ekaterina Mikhailovna is a certified instructor in "Wellness Qigong", and is also a multiple winner and prize–winner of All-Russian and International tournaments in Daoyin Yangsheng Gong, Daoyin Kanyang and Wellness Qigong and Tai Chi.
According to the teacher, many students who attend Health-improving Qigong classes study this type of physical culture with interest and enthusiasm and successfully master the program. For the next academic year, students plan to continue their studies in this subject.
"I think that the groups will quickly master the general course, and we will move on to studying more complex exercises," Ekaterina Afonina added.
By the way, in the educational activities of the project in the direction of "Wellness Qigong", it is recommended that students with health limitations participate in order to strengthen the body overall and develop physical and intellectual abilities.
