Mentoring and tutoring activities

This is the support and monitoring of international students. The tutor directly interacts with foreign students, advises them on important issues, helps to cope with academic, documentary, social and everyday issues, ensuring their systematic socio-cultural adaptation. The school of tutors is the training of tutors, the involvement of students in the activities of the Centre.

Information and educational direction

These are preventive measures of Russian-Rostov-on-Don and anti-extremist orientation among foreign students, excursion routes in three directions: cultural, educational, industrial and scientific facilities of Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov region, as well as special projects: a series of podcasts UniGlobal Talk, where invited speakers are foreign students, spoken language clubs Polyglot Park (Russian, English, Spanish, Arabic, French and Chinese).

Cultural and mass direction

A unique thematic platform for international dating is the International Friend Meeting. The most important advantages of such a meeting format are:

1) The opportunity to make a lot of new acquaintances in just a few hours.

2) A place where there are no barriers: neither communicative, nor national, nor linguistic.

3) The presence of pre-prepared topics for discussion, so that participants do not get lost and do not think for a long time about what to talk about with a stranger.

4) A limited amount of time, because of which there is a feeling of incompleteness and interest. It is thanks to this that I want to return to my interlocutors after the end of the formal part of the event and continue the dialogues that have begun.

5) Practice of Russian and English languages (the event is held in 2 languages).

6) Organization of an informal atmosphere after the official part of the event - tea drinking, sweets, a photo zone, endless music and dances of the peoples of the world.

On the territory of the Unified Student Campus of SFedU, a special platform with soft ottomans is being prepared for convenient viewing of films — UniCinema open-air film screenings. A pleasant surprise is crispy and hot popcorn, which tutors prepare right during the viewing. Another feature is that the film screenings are thematic and students themselves choose a film from the suggested ones by taking part in a survey.

Together with the ethnocenter "Achievement", the Centre holds themed musical evenings EtnoMusic. And of course it is worth mentioning the annual events related to the holidays of the peoples of the world — Chinese New Year, Maslenitsa, Navruz and others.

The acquaintance of students of SFedU with the cultures of students studying at the university takes place at Festivals of cultures of the peoples of the world – the Festival of Cultures of Latin America, the Festival of Egyptian Culture "Egypt to Your Home", the Festival of the Peoples of the world AIS in SFedU.

Sports direction

This is carrying out work among foreign students aimed at popularizing a healthy lifestyle, active leisure, attracting foreign students to sports — Sports contests, football tournaments, sports marathons, streetball, chess/checkers tournaments, etc.
