Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, scientific director of SFedU, Igor Kalyaev is a well—known scientist in the field of multiprocessor computing and control systems and intelligent robotics.

Igor Anatolyevich heads one of the leading scientific and pedagogical schools of the Russian Federation "Multiprocessor computing and information management systems". He is the scientific director of R&D, within the framework of which a number of computer systems with a reconfigurable architecture of ultra-high performance have been created, as well as highly reliable multiprocessor control systems, such as the Argus space platform control system and control systems for transport and technological complexes of nuclear fuel reloading at nuclear power plants.
