SFedU site was included in the top 20 best web portals of Russian universities according to the first version of the Rating Web (or Webometrics Rating) in 2020 and took 14th place, and in the world rating strengthened its position and took the 1269th place. The highest position among Russian universities was taken by Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov, the university took the 223rd place. It is followed by St. Petersburg State University, it takes the 463rd place in the global rating.

            Webometrics Rating of World Universities is a combined university rating system for world universities. Rating results are published twice a year. The assessment involves more than 25 thousand universities in the world, while less than half are allowed to be rated. Educational institutions are assessed by such indicators as the number of links from other resources, openness, the number of documents uploaded to the site and indexed by the Google search engine, as well as academic quality - we are talking about citing scientific publications based on analytical data from the SCImago research group.

            Since 2004, the Webometrics rating has been prepared by Cybermetrics Lab, a member of the National Center for Information and Documentation of the Higher Council for Scientific Research of Spain. Webometrics rating is based on the criteria of occupancy, degree of support and popularity of university websites. The rating methodology is specified before the publication of each rating.
